Red Phantom Games (based in Leamington Spa, U.K.) is a video game development company founded in 2012 by Richard Ogden who has over 22 years experience in the industry and formerly worked at Sony Computer Entertainment, Bigbig Studios (as a company founder and game director) and Codemasters.
Red Phantom aims to develop and publish fun, original, distinctive and interesting games for home consoles and PC, with a secondary goal of targeting smartphones and tablets if compelling opportunities arise.
The company ethos is to blend older game sensibilities with modern game design thinking. "Incremental innovation" is key. We have, after all, a 40+ year history of video game creation to draw upon.
"Minutes", an abstract "bullet hell" action game, launched on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in November 2014 (February 2015 in the U.S.) A Nintendo Switch version is currently in the works.
The main development focus is now on "Gearshifters", a new vehicle combat game for PC and consoles targeting release in 2020.
Red Phantom Games also engages in consulting, support and contract activites and has worked with a number of other developers and publishers on various titles, the most recent of which is "Laser League" (developed by Roll7 and published by 505 Games). See the Games page for more.
